“The focus of MESI is to help men better understand themselves as they confront the pressures and challenges of being “man enough.”
Man-Enough Support Initiative (MESI) is a multidisciplinary and interdepartmental gender responsive wellness retention initiative that operates as a collaborative of CCSU’s Student Wellness Services, Office of Recruitment & Admissions, Center for Africana Studies and Office of Diversity & Equity. MESI exist as a coordinated system of support designed to provide and connect college men with the necessary resources to help them navigate the complexities of their college experience.
The initiative celebrates the male spirit by acknowledging the capacity of men to live and lead health productive lives. Through evidenced-based practices, MESI is committed to providing men with practical skills, resources, information, and support to enhance their well-being.
MESI is not a club or a fraternity, yet it operates as a fraternal wellness initiative established to help CCSU college men reach their personal, educational, and professional potential. The primary objective of the initiative is health, retention and graduation through a “Wellness Retention Model”. The primary objective of the initiative is health, retention, and graduation through a wellness orientation. It is our desire to work with college men to help them develop a plan and a course of action that will lead them towards successful degree completion. The initiative operates to empower young men to reach their full human potential. The initiative operates to improve the health of the entire CCSU campus community.
