Healthyfellows Campaign
"It is not our intention to create a men’s center, our goal is to develop centered men.”
(Andrew Halpern, MESI)
The purpose of the HEALTHYfellows Campaign is to bring together schools, colleges, public officials, agencies, and caring individuals who seek to improve the health and wellness of boys and men. The campaign will act as a strategic young men’s health alliance by creating an extended network of support committed to improving the education, health, and wellness of young men. The HEALTHYfellows Campaign was established with the intent to unite independent male services entities into a collaborative partnership with mutual beneficial objectives about the welfare of young men. While maintaining their independence, the alliance partners will combine their efforts to promote and improve wellness outcomes. Working collectively, the alliance partners are mobilized into a unified voice for change and advocacy. The alliance operates on the premise that there is strength in numbers.
Our WebsiteThe GUYCentral Website operates as a component of the HEALTHYfellows / Man Enough Support Initiative. The Website was created as an on-line wellness information and resource for male students. The Website will operate as a virtual Men’s Center that provides a common space (forum) where young men can easily find resources in order to adopt healthier lifestyles. The GUYCentral website was created as a vehicle to encourage male students, of all ages, to become more responsible and proactively involved in improving health and wellness outcomes for themselves and other young men.
The purpose of the GUYCentral Website is to support the mission of the HEALTHYfellows / CCSU Man Enough Support Initiative. The Website is dedicated to improving the health, retention, and graduation of male students. The site will provide information on a variety of topics related to the wellbeing of young men. The Website will provide an active forum where young men can examine the societal messages, expectations, and masculine constructs associated with being a modern young man. The GUYCentral Website serves the public by offering ready access to information about health, education, events, article, and links to health and education resources.
